Saturday Sunrise Toastmasters is the perfect place to improve your
communication skills, develop the leadership skills you desire, and increase your ability to influence others through confident
public speaking. Priding ourselves on diversity, we welcome adults of all walks of life and from all neighboring communities.
At Toastmasters, new members learn the art of public speaking
by completing the Competent Communicator Manual. This manual is included as part of your dues and provides you with your
first 10 assignments, all carefully structured to ensure your success. Each speech features basic speaking skills such
as how to organize a speech, how to use props or visual aids, how to use voice inflections, and how to persuade or inspire
your audience.
Advanced members who have completed their first manual have many choices from the Advanced
Series. One example is the Interpersonal Communications series which teaches you how to be a good negotiator,
diffuse difficult situations, sell products, and make cold calls.
Table Topics is a fun segment of every meeting that helps participants
build skills for thinking on their feet. These are impromptu oppportunities to speak for 1-2 minutes on a given subject.
Besides mastering the art of public speaking, we also have
plenty of time to chit-chat, network, and develop great friendships.
